Two weeks ago I got to do something I don’t do very often: headshots. They were of another photographer, Aly Medina of La Luz Photography, who needed a new photo for her soon-to-be-updated website. We met online through the Digital Wedding Forum (a professional photography community), but when we saw each other in person we realized we’d likely crossed paths before at the Photographic Center Northwest.

We shot outside on a crisp Sunday morning at the Olympic Sculpture Park, which is an incredible place to take pictures. There are so many interesting backgrounds:

But for the actual headshots I went for a more plain set of backgrounds:

It can be intimidating taking another photographer’s portrait…they know all the tricks of the trade already! But Aly was a breeze to work with and I think her sunny and fun-loving personality shines though in the photos:

These are gorgeous, Eliza – especially the one on the steps, and the one with the big rusty fins (or whatever they are) in the background.

I may have to get you to do some for me too 🙂

Thanks, Kate! And I’d love to take some headshots for you. Any time…
