Just a few weeks ago Jen and Peter were married at the Lake Union Cafe. It was one of those weddings when everything just fell into place. The weather was flawless—a cool and brilliantly sunny Seattle day. Everyone was on time. The cafe looked beautiful. The young ring bearers were in excellent spirits. And from from the first look between Jen and Peter, I could see how happy they were together. We started off in the bride’s getting-ready room downstairs.
Jen’s dress was so beautiful—and it was all designed and sewn by a friend!
Then we headed upstairs to meet with Peter so we could start the portraits.
We walked over to a small park by the cafe that has a beautiful willow tree by the water
The gardenia in Jen’s hair was the perfect touch
Then we took a few more photos in front of the entrance to the cafe
Back inside, I had a chance to take a few detail shots. Instead of centerpieces the tables each had a perfect single gardenia in a champagne coupe.
There were Trophy cupcakes—my favorite
Before the ceremony began, the family had time to hang out and have a glass of champagne
And there were some excellent Scottish accessories on display. A sgian duh:
The first thistle boutonniere I’ve ever seen:
Socks with flashes:
And I love this shot of someone stroking a sporran:
Jen was waiting down in the getting-ready room while guests arrived…here’s the friend who designed and made Jen’s incredible dress:
And here’s Jen’s mom:
Then it was time for the ceremony to begin! Peter walking down the aisle with the officiant:
You can see Peter reflected in the mirror behind Jen and her dad as they walk down the aisle
Introduced for the first time as husband and wife:
After dinner there were toasts…
Thank you so much for me having me photograph your wedding. It was such a beautiful, sweet day.
