For Katy & Scott’s wedding we had a bright, sunshiny day, a beautiful location (UW’s Center for Urban Horticulture), and a loving, fun-filled couple who were a complete blast to photograph.
We started out with a few getting ready photos:
And then moved on to some portraits of Katy and Scott
One of the things that made the day so fun was Katy and Scott’s sense of humor…they definitely know how to crack their photographer up:
Then we took some formal photos. And although I don’t usually blog about the family photos, but I completely loved this pair of portraits of Katy and her grandfather:

And then it was ceremony time. Here’s Katy waiting with her dad before walking in:
The had guests seated all around them—everyone had a good view, and they were surrounded on all sides by friends and family.
The ceremony was filled with music: guitar as the guests were seated, and several songs by various groups of vocalists:
I adore the light in the courtyard at CUH. At the reception I had a field day taking candids of the guests and of Katy and Scott in the receiving line.
Sundress + air vent = puffy!
Then came dinner and toasts…
There was one very special toast—it seemed like pretty much every guy in the room got up to join in a surprise serenade for Katy and Scott—a rousing rendition of “That’s Amore!”
Technically I was scheduled to leave before the dancing began, but the band was great and I couldn’t resist getting a grabbing a few quick shots before I headed out.
Thanks to Katy and Scott for being such a fun couple to work with, and thanks also to Jennifer Richard, my fabulous second shooter.
