Jenny and Zach’s wedding was an especially exciting one for me for many reasons. It was held at the Palace Ballroom (a place I’d always wanted to shoot) and it was my first ever wedding with my new D700 (I fell in love with it on the spot).
Although we’d planned to drive around to a bunch of different paces around town to do portraits, it ended up being freakishly windy—Jenny’s veil blew off at our first stop at Kerry Park! Here they are, heading back to the safety of the car:
So we moved on to the EMP, which was much more sheltered and provided millions of incredibly cool backgrounds.
Then we headed back to the Palace Ballroom for the ceremony and reception. It was a great wedding, with some fun nods to their home state of Wisconsin–it was my first time seeing people polka dancing and there was Miller High Life toast (the champagne of beers, and brewed in Wisconsin!). Here’s everyone waiting for the ceremony to begin:
Thanks to Jennifer Richard for her great second shooting, and thanks to Jenny and Zach forbeing such a fun, game, couple!
