Fourth Birthday

I had the pleasure of photographing Olive’s 4th birthday recently. It was at the very pretty Trophy Cupcakes party room and Olive’s mom, the amazing Shannon of Sublime Events, put together the sweetest fourth birthday I’d ever seen. Lovely party decor and details by Heathoriginal, magic tricks by Joe Black, and pink pink pink everywhere!

We Heart Sharlane

Sharlane is a friend and fellow wedding photographer and she’s in a really rough spot. Think cancer plus no health insurance plus young daughter to take care of, and you get the basic idea. So some of her friends have put together a fundraiser, “We Heart Sharlane,” to help her out at this incredibly tough […]

New York Fashion Academy Show

A few months ago I photographed the student runway show of the New York Fashion Academy in Ballard. The students had worked incredibly hard for the big runway show, but my favorite part of the event was before the show began. I got to take behind-the-scenes photos of everyone getting ready, and it was fascinating. […]

Thanks, 2009

This past year was a great one for me. I got married, traversed Scandinavia on my honeymoon, went camping, went to a bunch of baseball games, did some fun craft projects and some ridiculous baking, made candy for the first time (salted caramels!), started a second blog, helped Get hitched, Get Hope raise $37,000 for […]

4th of July

I had such a blast photographing the 4th of July celebration at Cal Anderson Park. The event was put together by the awesome ladies at the Adventure School, and those two had SO many fun activities planned for all ages…there were bands, a pie-eating contest, a pet-human look-alike contest, bike-powered spin-art, tie-dyeing, hula-hoop making, a […]

ACLU Bill of Rights Dinner

Every year I volunteer to photograph a few events for certain causes I care about, the most recent being the ACLU of Washington’s Bill of Rights Dinner at the end of last year. The event honored a variety of Washingtonians for their commitment to civil liberties and civil rights. The evening’s primary honoree was Hubert […]

Get Hitched, Give Hope: Less Than a Month Away!

I can’t believe it’s less than a month away, but it is. There are only 27 more days until Get Hitched, Give Hope. It’s going to be a sweet party and a way to get great stuff you need for your wedding. Our list of auction items is truly amazing, and I am constantly impressed […]

Get Ready, Get Set, Get Hitched, Give Hope!

Since last November my nearest and dearest have been hearing me talk a lot about this one thing non-stop. And what is this one thing I’ve been talking about for the past 270-odd days? It’s a little something called Get Hitched, Give Hope. It’s a big fun cocktail party for brides-to-be and their friends where […]

Coffee Shop Jam

So a few weeks ago I got to photograph the Coffee Shop Jam for the second time. The Coffee Shop Jam is when all the students of Rob Hampton , guitar teacher extraordinaire, get to strut their stuff on stage in front of a real live audience. It was my second time photographing the Jam […]

Race for the Cure

The Susan G. Komen Foundation’s Race for the Cure was last weekend. I was one of a group of volunteer photographers covering the event, and it was an all-around awesome day. It was a mixture of fun (cheerleaders, local mascots, funny signs), sadness for those fighting breast cancer and those who have lost their fights, […]
